The Amalfi Coast is everything they say it is- colorful villages cascading down cliffs, endless views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and a slower pace that makes every moment feel like a dream. From romantic boat rides to scenic cliffside aperitivos, this unforgettable leg of our honeymoon was everything we dreamed of and more.
Whether you’re heading to Positano, Capri, or soaking up the sun in Sorrento, here’s your complete travel guide with daily recaps, must-book experiences, and a few hidden gems you’ll want to bookmark ASAP.

Day 1: Sorrento

We checked into the stunning Bellevue Syrene. This iconic Sorrento hotel feels like stepping into a dream- with sweeping sea views, romantic arches, and a level of service that makes you feel like royalty. From aperitivo hour on the terrace to marble tubs and coastal-chic suites, every detail is dripping in old-world charm with a modern twist. The best part? You’re just a short stroll from the heart of Sorrento, but it feels like you’re in your own serene little world. Our favorite hotel of the entire trip so if you splurge on one place let it be this!!
Once we checked in, we headed out to wander the streets of Sorrento. We loved how quaint Sorrento felt compared to some of the other Amalfi towns so definitely walk around and get lost in the cute street markets.

We stopped at @marinapiccola73 for sunset apperitivo — we had the whole patio to ourselves, it was hands down one of our favorite moments of the trip. they have a small hotel and I’d 100% stay there next time as it’s super aesthetic, affordable and right on the marina but books up early.

Followed by dinner at Antica Trattoria. This spot is a must but be sure to snag a reservation well in advance (we’re talking weeks, not days). Tucked into a lush, garden-like setting with twinkling lights and lemon-scented air, @anticatrattoriasorrento serves up classic Italian dishes with upscale flair. Every plate was perfection-from the handmade pasta to the dreamy tiramisu and the service made it feel like a special occasion. One of our favorite meals of the entire trip!
Day 2: Boat Day

We woke up on day 2 and had coffee and breakfast on the hotel terrace, then headed straight for the water. We booked a private boat with @maredivinocharter and spent the day sipping champagne and cruising along the coastline. Pure honeymoon magic.

We cruised from Capri to Positano, soaking in every inch of the coastline. Positano, with the winding streets, colorful homes stacked cliffside, and more stairs than I could count – but oh, was it worth it. This view will stay with me forever. We had heard how touristy and packed Positano was so we only spent about 30 minutes here but definitely worth a stop! If we had more time in the Amalfi coast I would have loved to stay here one night even with the crowds.

After leaving Positano, we stopped for lunch at Ristorante Il Cantuccio a Nerano, where the napkin dancing was in full swing. Highly recommend for fun vibes and seaside pasta. Our caption advised we stop off in Nerano for lunch vs Positano to avoid the crowds and we loved this little secluded spot that could only be accessed by boat.
Day 3: Capri
We arrived at the stunning Hotel La Palma Capri where our travel agent, @theweekenddiscovery, surprised us with a bottle of champagne. I will say as beautiful as this hotel was we wished we had stayed somewhere with a sea view.
We took the day to explore and get our bearings! And by explore I mean shop:) you absolutely cannot come to Capri and not shop- it’s dripping with designer stores! Window shopping is also acceptable.
Dinner at the rooftop was low-key but so good (order the pizza), and we ended the night at Gelateria Buonocore next door. Hands down the best gelato of the trip!! It’s ranked in the top 3 Gelato places in Italy for a reason.
Day 4: Massages + Beach Club

We started the day with massages at the hotel spa which was a great way to relax before heading to a beach club for the rest of the day. We had high hopes for our day at La Fontelina Beach Club-and while the setting was absolutely iconic (hello, striped umbrellas and Faraglioni views!), Mother Nature had other plans. It was super windy and chilly the day we went, so after an hour of huddling under towels, we made the executive decision to head back to the hotel and warm up in the heated pool. Not the beach day we imagined, but still a core memory and 100% go to La Fontelina if you go to Capri as it’s iconic! Just know it’s on the backside of the island so typically a little more windy and it’s nestled into the rocks so you’re not at a beach.

That night, we had dinner at Ristorante Paolino—the one everyone told us to book. While the setting is undeniably gorgeous (yes, you really do eat under a canopy of lemon trees), we left feeling like it was more about the vibe than the food. Cool to experience once, but in our opinion, a bit overhyped. If you do go, you have to order the lemon pasta.
Day 5: Beach Club + Dior Pop Up

Our last full day in Capri was finally sunny and we headed to the La Palma Beach Club for a little sun and lunch. We loved that this was on the beach yet private to just the hotel guests. Unlike the beach club the day before, you could walk right into the water.
For dinner we were told by locals to try Panorama and it was our favorite dinner in Capri by far! Go early to see the sunset and get a table that overlooks the sea. The restaurant gets it’s name for a reason- the panoramic views of Capri are BEAUTIFUL!

Outfits and What to Pack
Packing for the Amalfi Coast in summer is all about effortless elegance. Think breezy linen sets, colorful dresses/skirts, lightweight knits for cooler evenings, and stylish yet comfortable footwear for all the walking you’ll do. A straw hat, oversized sunglasses, and a woven tote are key for beach club days and boat outings.

Final Thoughts + Travel Tips
The Amalfi Coast was everything we hoped it would be-romantic, scenic, and filled with those pinch-me moments we’ll never forget. From sun-soaked boat days and charming cliffside hotels to sunset dinners and gelato runs, every day brought something magical.
That said, a few quick tips: Book your dinners and beach clubs well in advance (especially during high season), pack layers for unexpected weather shifts, and don’t underestimate the power of good walking shoes—those hills and cobblestones are no joke! Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, anniversary, or just an unforgettable escape, this slice of coastal Italy is pure magic.
