Chic Courthouse Wedding
Before Italy, the villa, and the vows under the Tuscan sun, we made it official in the city that holds our hearts- Chicago! While we met and started our relationship in Houston, Texas, we’ve spent the majority of our relationship in Chicago so it holds a very near and dear spot in our hearts.
Here is the official recap of our Chicago courthouse ceremony!

What started as a simple idea turned into one of the most intimate and best days of our lives. A few weeks before flying overseas, we snuck away for a private courthouse ceremony surrounded only by the city that has shaped us, grounded us, and grown us through the main chapter of our love story.

It wasn’t part of the original plan, but it quickly became one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. There was something so special about slowing down and fully absorbing the weight of our commitment, no timeline, no expectations, just us. Just love. On a random Thursday in September 🙂

In the quiet simplicity of that moment, we became husband and wife. No grand venue. No guest list. Just a courthouse, a few tears, and pure joy that we were finally united as one.
Every minute felt intentional because it was. We wanted to begin this next chapter with purpose and saying “I do” in Chicago was the perfect way to honor where we’ve been before stepping into what’s next.

What I Wore
I wore this Amanda Uprichard romper (that looks like a two piece dress) paired with a mini veil I had received from my bachelorette party and white slingback heels. It was exactly the feel I wanted for our courthouse ceremony (giving Carrie Bradshaw and Big courthouse wedding vibes!) and one of my favorite looks of all of the wedding festivities.
We didn’t even have our official wedding bands yet so I overnighted some off of Amazon! The ring that I gave my husband even had “I Love You” engrained on the inside which I thought was a really nice touch for $19. And hey if I hadn’t told you my band was from Amazon, you’d never know!!

A huge thank you to my talented girlfriend, Kelsey for capturing the raw, radiant joy of that day. I’ll treasure these photos forever. Proof that magic lives in the in-between moments, the quiet celebrations, and the places that feel like home. She snapped photos of us as we walked from the courthouse to RPM Seafood for a celebratory glass of champagne. These will forever be some of my favorite photos!
