Chic Fall Home Decor
There’s just something about fall in Chicago. The air turns crisp (okay, sometimes downright chilly), the leaves crunch underfoot, and suddenly all I want to do is sip a warm latte, throw on a chunky sweater, and cozy up in front of the fire at home. Since the windy city weather has us spending more nights indoors, this season is the perfect excuse to refresh my home with chic fall touches that make everyday moments feel extra special. From styled shelves to cozy table-scapes, here’s how I’ve brought the beauty of autumn indoors – because if we’re going to hibernate a little, we might as well do it in style.

Seasonal Styled Shelves
Think of your shelves as the perfect blank canvas for seasonal styling. This is the first thing I refresh for each season! For fall, I leaned into natural wood tones and functional pieces like layered cutting boards, stacked cookbooks, and copper salt and pepper mills that double as decor.

To bring in that festive charm, I styled a ceramic pumpkin jar next to patterned mugs and earthy berry bowls. And because cozy nights at home always call for something delicious, I opened my favorite charcuterie board book to the Fall Feast Board-an instant reminder that charcuterie is basically a love language this time of year.

I love adding little unexpected touches to shelves and areas around the home. This hanging shelf in our kitchen was the perfect spot to add in a woven hanging basket with some faux fall foliage.

Pro tip: Mix textures-wood, ceramic, and metal-for that layered, cozy-but-collected look that screams fall without feeling cluttered.
Cozy Coffee Table Moments
When the temps drop and Chicago windchill kicks in, evenings in become everything. A wooden tray on the coffee table keeps things styled yet functional. I layered in a scalloped vase with rust-toned florals, a decorative jar, and a sculptural marble knot. It feels seasonal but elevated-like fall, but make it chic.

It’s the little details like these that make curling up with a blanket (and maybe a glass of red wine) feel even more indulgent. Here are some more cozy touches around the living room!

Moody Mantel Magic
My mantel is one of my favorite spots to refresh each season. This fall, I went with moody burgundy hydrangeas in a stone vase paired with a candle-instant cozy vibes for crisp Chicago nights. Our gold-framed + seasonal Frame TV art ties everything together, adding that vintage warmth I love this time of year.

Updating your Frame TV art is one of the easiest refreshes you can do for your space. Here are some of my favorite affordable finds below.

Table-scape Goals
If you’re entertaining this season (or just want to feel fancy for weeknight dinners), a fall-inspired table-scape is such a fun update. I styled mine with woven placemats, floral dishes rimmed in gold, and plaid napkins cinched with brass rings-basically the best outfit your table could wear.

No fall home tour is complete without pumpkins, and I always get to excited to pull out my Mackenzie-Childs pumpkins. They’re playful, bold, and pair perfectly with natural wood candlesticks for a look that feels both festive and elevated. And can we talk about those faux stems? The rich copper leaves make the whole table feel alive, even when the temps outside start dipping into “do I need gloves yet?” territory.
Shop Target Fall Home Decor
I always turn to Target for affordable home decor, and the Fall new arrivals are SO good. I picked up a ton of stuff shown below for myself and my sister!
Bring in autumn warmth with rich amber pillows, woven storage, and chic gold-accented decor. Perfect for layering cozy textures while keeping things stylish and inviting.

Think timeless fall style-plaid pillows, a rich berry-red candle, golden pumpkins, and a wreath that instantly says “hello, fall.” These pieces add depth and a little drama to your space.

I love to entertain in the chilly months, and these finds are perfect for hosting game days and dinner parties!

Fall in Chicago might mean bundling up the second you step outside, but inside, it’s all about cozying up in style. Whether it’s a styled shelf, a pumpkin-adorned window ledge, or a table-scape ready for entertaining, these little touches make home feel like the ultimate autumn retreat.
