One Last Hoorah
After the magic of our wedding day in Tuscany, we weren’t ready to say goodbye just yet. We dubbed our last full day at the villa as The Last Hay Day. This was our chance to soak up every last moment with the people we love most.

A Slow Morning at the Villa
The day after the wedding, everyone slept in (much needed after the all-night dance party!) and we gathered for a relaxed brunch at our villa in the Tuscan countryside. Fresh pastries, strong Italian coffee, and laughter filled the table as we recapped our favorite moments from the big day. It was the perfect way to ease into the morning surrounded by family and friends.

Poolside Bliss
After brunch, we did exactly what you should do in Italy after a wedding…nothing at all!! We lounged by the pool, enjoyed the late September sunshine, and let the stress of the planning melt away. The villa’s vineyard views and rolling Tuscan hills set the dreamiest backdrop for a slow afternoon of swimming, sipping, and simply being together.

Wine Tasting & Backyard Italian BBQ
In the evening, we freshened up and decided to keep the celebration close to home. While we had debated heading into town for more exploring, my heart just wanted to stay put and soak up every minute at the villa with our people. I promise you (if you can’t tell from the pictures) that we really had no reason to leave this beautiful place. Everything we could possible want to do could easily be done at the villa and if it couldn’t it could have come to us!

We kicked things off with a wine tasting featuring local Tuscan reds (because is it even an Italy wedding weekend without Chianti Classico?) and then gathered for a backyard Italian BBQ.

The menu was rustic and authentic grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and endless glasses of wine. Music played, we danced under the stars, and the night turned into a celebration of life, love, and friendship.

Why We Stayed In
One of my favorite decisions from the weekend was keeping the last day simple. Instead of rushing out for one more excursion, we embraced the villa as our little slice of paradise. Sometimes the best memories come from slowing down, drinking, dancing, laughing, disconnecting, and living fully in the moment.

Final Thoughts
If you’re planning a destination wedding in Italy, my biggest advice is to savor the days after the wedding just as much as the wedding itself. Whether it’s wine tasting in Tuscany, lounging by the pool in a villa, or hosting a laid-back Italian BBQ, those extra moments with your loved ones will be some of the ones you treasure most. When planning a destination wedding, my biggest hope was to spend as much quality time as possible with my favorite people and by staying at the villa for 3 full days, we successfully did just that!

Our Italy wedding weekend was everything I dreamed of and more and The Last Hay Day was the perfect finale. Check out more posts here with all of our wedding content.
Of course, none of this would be complete without the beautiful photos that captured the joy of the weekend. Huge thanks to @emilyfigurelliphotography for documenting every detail, including this unforgettable final day.
